Former Lives is the new wave-influenced project started by producer and songwriter Sean Joseph Klassen and his dog, Bruce Beagle. While teaching himself how to record in a SE Portland, Oregon basement, Sean started composing songs to process how his life was thrown into turmoil after suffering a traumatic brain injury.
He found collaborators in producer Jeff Stuart Saltzman (Menomena, Typhoon, Grails), singer/songwriter Sabrina Velazquez Summers (Montclaire), and vocalists Madison Fenton, Charls Ava, and Sarah Royal (D'est Roy) to help bring a set of bittersweet songs to life for a debut EP called Ceremony of Leaving.
